Progression of the Story

As mentioned previously in my blog, inanimate Alice used pictures of the stairs gradually going up to construct the meaning of Alice climbing the stairs. This also built suspense and showed clear progression of the story. I thought about this technique when taking photos that could be used in my multi-modal text. The below images, show how I have attempted to use this technique. The images in the below order, can show that the character is walking through, and as the walls and pavement draw in closer, this could suggest that something is about to happen. The image also shows a cracked pavement and walls with graffiti, which could show that this part of the story is darker, and with the use of this technique together can help to build suspense and enable the story to effectively progress.
